I have a masters degree in English, and a masters degree in Education. I am also a life long student of philosophy, and am expert in teaching people logic, reason, and critical thinking skills. My sole reason for studying English was to become a teacher. I also love writing, so the two go hand in hand. My love of philosophy is a love of reality, and a desire to know, and understand the real world as well as I possibly can. I love teaching people to use logic, and reason. these skills can improve someones skills in "all" things.
Experience
I have been tutoring both children and adults for 11 years. I was a school teacher for 10 years. I have a total of 21 years teaching experience at this time. I take my job very seriously, and doing it well is very important to me. I spent 10 years teaching High School English, and creative writing in my home country of America. After tiring of 60 hour work weeks and poor pay I moved to China. I have been teaching here for 11 years, and I love my work. I studied long and hard to become a teacher. I put myself through school, and did everything on my own. No one helped me. I know what it takes to be successful, and I know what hard work means. These are qualities I try to teach to my young students. If you are an adult student I bring a level of knowledge, caring, and professionalism that are hard to come by in China when we are speaking of foreign English teachers. I am also a real teacher, meaning I am educated as an English teacher, and trained to become such. If you want someone who is good with both kids, and adults, and knows how to do their job well, and with professionalism, than you could not do much better.
